Mature Aged Program

The Mature Aged program is designed to allow a student of limited mobility and flexibility to still be able to learn and perform skills almost as equal to a student in the Open Program.

The student who elects to be on this program usually will experience the lack of ability to perform kicks that have a high degree of difficulty. This will in fact apply to most of the TRACS kicks apart from the knee and front snap kicks. The harder kicks are therefore modified to be performed with the hand in a similar way to the leg action.

The uniquely designed mature age modified kick, when performed side by side with a normal kick, will both appear matching but very practical and dynamic. This will build the confidence in the student, knowing that they can match a student in the Open Program.

Any person who feels very unfit, stiff and a little bit overweight may elect to start with this program. Likewise, any person on remedial training after an operation or sport injuries has the opportunity to train using this program.

A student may wish to give the Open Program kicks a go as they feel that they have improved in fitness, flexility and the body has recovered from the operation or sports injury. This is an indication that the student is noticing the improvement in their limitations and feel that the kicks are getting easier to perform. The student should be encouraged to progress to the Open Program as they feel ready and confident to try.

The student must choose either the Open Program or the Mature Aged Program. It is expected that a student aged 55 and over would choose the Mature Aged Program. On the other hand a younger student recovering from a knee, shoulder or any operation with long term recovery period, may choose the Mature Aged Program and then change to the Open Program. The Grading Test result will indicate whether a student is coping with the Open Program or not. If their performance is below standard the student may wish to change to the Mature Age Program. TRACS gives the student the opportunity to choose without feeling degraded.

There is no pressure. It's your choice to make.
